My mom flew into San Diego on Day 41 of my trip!
It was SO good to see her and spend time together…. We created memories that will last a lifetime!
She spent 7 days with me and our plans were pretty wide open… our only goal was to get to San Francisco so that she could fly out from there.
We decided to avoid highways and drive the Pacific Coast Highway the entire trip!
Boy did we see a lot!
The California landscape has SO much diversity.
We drove through desert areas, wine county, beach communities, redwood forest, smokey mountain passes and through the heart of a few cities.
We visited San Diego, Huntington Beach, LA, Santa Monica, Malibu, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Big Sur, Monterey and San Francisco, and more…
Along the way we laughed, we sang, we saw the sunrise and set, we looked over cliffs, drove over bridges, listened to the bird’s sing, gazed at the hillsides, we were in awe of the hundreds of miles of coastline, countless beaches, lighthouses, elephant seals, dolphins, waterfalls, sand dunes, mountain passes, and redwood trees!
Our final stop was San Francisco where we ate authentic Mexican, enjoyed local coffee, and rented electric stand up scooters! We drove around town for 2 hours on these scooters… saw the Golden Gate Bridge, listened to street musicians, drove the steep & curvy roads, looked out at Alcatraz island and laughed and laughed and laughed!
I feel so fortunate to have traveled around California with my momma! I love you SO much!
