I realized I needed to do something at a young age when I received mail from the Arbor Day Foundation about rainforest destruction. From a young age it became clear to me that human activities were destroying the planet. I majored in Environmental Conservation Studies in college and am now a member of my local conservation commission. Water quality is becoming a hot topic in our area of the world and we are working to protect our sources of drinking water. Acting locally is probably one of the best ways for individuals to make an immediate impact on protecting our environment.
